550 grams plain flour
7 grams instant yeast
200 ml milk
2 medium eggs
150 grams butter, divided
1 teaspoon salt
150 grams smoked ham, minced
150 grams Edam cheese, grated
Preparation
Mix the flour, yeast and salt, then add 100 grams of room temperature butter sliced thinly, and rub it into the dry ingredients. Make a well in the centre, and add the eggs and milk. Mix with a wooden spoon, and then with your hands, until the dough becomes smooth. Cover the dough and leave it to rise for about 30 minutes.
Divide the risen dough into 12 parts by weight, and shape into spheres. Flatten each one into a circle, put a part of the filling in the centre, then close the dough around it, again forming a sphere. Brush each one generously withe the reserved melted butter, and arrange them on a large baking sheet lined with baking parchment. Leave them to rise for another 30 minutes, and bake, in a preheated oven, at 200°C (400°F) for about 25 minutes. Serve warm.
